Here in my blog are a selection of images from a range of projects I have recently completed; Fashion, Light Movement and Landscapes. I am currently studying Textiles as well as Photography which was helpful whilst completing my Fashion brief. The first four images represent my Fashion outcomes; I was inspired by Yanik Dery's deserted theme throughout her photography. I related to her work by using rusty old objects and locations to give a bold contrast between my fashion model and the deserted setting. I have focused on various fashionable areas of each photo; the model, objects in the setting, for example life size birdcage and bold textiles and using striking accessories in simple backgrounds.

Light Movement theme is the next set of images inspired by Alan Kitching and David Carson; I have displayed to you a variety of my photographs containing different types of light; black and white underground tram shot, a long exposed shot of motorway lights and controlled car brake/indicator lights and a edited still shot of the Manchester Eye at night. I used my creative drive to produce my own typography made out of wax and Indian ink, which I later scanned into Photoshop and merged it into the background of my second final image.

Next, these two images are Cyanotypes, which is a light sensitive process I've recently learnt. It involves exposing an acetate image on to material painted with Cyanotype liquid and later washing with water to fix your image. My first landscape is a sky scape, I took on a plane to Switzerland, I experimented exposing the image onto tissue paper which turned out the most successful! The second Cyanotype is printed onto white cotton fabric, which shows sharp detail in the foreground; I really admire the blue tones.

I wanted to achieve a range of landscapes; sky scape, sea scape's and landscapes and I have also been inspired by Andrew Brooks who I took part in a workshop with during the landscape brief. I took the sunset photograph from various angles and used the palm tree trunks to frame the shot, giving it a silhouette edge. Also, I enjoy combining my interest in fashion/textiles with my work; for example experimenting in printing images onto various materials.I am passionate about photography, traditional process and modern outcomes and would like to develop my knowledge further at university.
